Ever since I heard this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fdF4DFjzCBI , I cannot pass a weeping willow without humming the song. But, for sure, they are beautiful trees, especially on a sunny day in March. Diemen, 4.52 pm.

February 8.

This is the 9^th year I am capturing spots in my home town. I am not bored. Again and again I am discovering new possibilities. Diemen 17.12 pm.   

At night by the Seaside.

Being at night by the seaside is a magical experience. It is alienating, strange. It feels a bit like being on another planet.

Over Bruggen (About Bridges)

If a bridge is been photographed and the pillars are left away in the picture, the bridge looks like a strange kind of Ufo.

Meanwhile Life goes on in that somewhat sleepy suburb of Amsterdam, Diemen. The place where I live and where sometimes a strange atmosphere arises. A mixture between endless rest and some kind of surrealism.

That why I always use post processing: to emphasize and intensify the awareness of Time, Light & Space.  I was cycling around along the Dutch countryside and was struck by the intensity and the strength of Light and Color.

It was the last real summer’s day of 2013. At least in Holland. The wind was from the South East. I went for a bike ride along the dike between Lelystad and Enkhuizen. It is a dike through The Ijsselmeer, a huge inner lake in the northern part of Holland. The dike is about 30 kilometers long. Just sitting on the bike I felt very small in the enormous blue space.

Time & Space turned into just one dimension.

My weblog & Facebook friends may have noticed that I did not publish new posts for a while. I was away, giving some workshops at Buitenkunst (www.buitenkunst.nl) . Which in itself a very inspiring activity. For me, and I hope for my participants too. My groups made some beautiful presentations, among them a big slide show in the theatre about photographing democratically. Which has to do with treating equally every element in the photo, every detail is of the same importance. Looking for the perfect banal.

In another workshop my group made a beautiful show of photographs as a décor for a concert of tango music.

Very inspiring, but I can’t find hardly the time to take new photographs and more over to think of new stories.

But sometimes I can bike around for a while and take some typical Dutch Landscape Pictures.
