Long November Shadow in the Late Light.

(Often when I go out into my hometown Diemen, the somewhat sleepy suburb of Big City Amsterdam, I take my camera with me. I try to capture accidental beauty and sometimes unplanned alienation of the banal aspects of the everyday scenery. I started to do this from 2004, the year we came to live here,  at first in black and white, from 2006 in color.)

After a first travel day I make an evening stroll through a fairground in München. A warm spring evening. Like Saul Leiter once said: “I walk around a bit. I look. I make a snapshot. I take a photograph”. Photograph: München, 4/22, 9.56 pm. A.D. 2018 is a selection from photographs I made during 2018.

March 3.

Ever since I heard this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fdF4DFjzCBI , I cannot pass a weeping willow without humming the song. But, for sure, they are beautiful trees, especially on a sunny day in March. Diemen, 4.52 pm.

UP: It just happened yesterday: the last rays of the sun were beautifully corresponding with the scene at the TV screen. Some images just take place.
