March 31.

Small experiment because of the stormy wind today. What happens if the camera is put on a tripod & you take 12 photographs of a strong moving trees and combine the 12 photos into one picture afterwards by photoshop? Diemen 4.50 pm.

March 30.

Made through a passing streetcar. Just wondered how the photograph would show up. It represents to me the volatility of City Life. Amsterdam 1.13 pm.

A typical Dutch Suburban Spring Scene (4). WATCH THE DOG IN FRONT OF THE TREE TRUNK! Diemen, 4.52 pm.

March 23.

It was very quiet in the Foam museum. But the atmosphere was great, almost serene.....And yes I liked the portrait exhibition 'van Loon' , and couldn't quite understand the function of the enlarged test strips in another show. Amsterdam, 1.37 pm.

March 22.

Sometimes it is necessary to add an extra element to a photograph to emphasize the atmosphere at a spot. Here I used the shadow of my hand. Diemen, 5.03 pm.

March 21.

The advertisement column has a very yellow color. The dark clouds in the background were a small present from the weather this 2nd day of spring 2015. Diemen, 3.46 pm.

March 20.

This was the only way today to capture the calmness of the sea today. There was a very fragile silence. Castricum aan Zee, 1.17 pm.

March 17.

Strange spot. These trunks are all that is left from a beautiful park. All because of some motor highways. Progress? Yes, Ladies & Gents I am a romantic soul. Diemen, 4.55 pm.

March 16.

A message for the spectators at my web log. I know you're looking out there, according to my counting system. Thank you for looking at my photographs until now. Hope to see you tomorrow & the day after tomorrow & the day.......This project of a picture a day will be continued, as far I am concerned. Photo: Diemen, 4.32 pm.

March 15.

At the moment I am intrigued by capturing nothingness in photographs. Btw that's not the same as lack of quality. But some spots can be so desolated, containing no excitement at all. Still those places trigger me. The photo today is made of such a spot. It is to be seen from the train platform for de direction to Amsterdam. Of course I needed the gray weather for the picture. Diemen 4.08 pm.

March 14.

The experiment today was about a relationship between a panoramic format and a relatively long exposure time just to capture the feeling of a passing rally against the high housing rents in Amsterdam. I must say that I fully agree with the purpose of the rally. It is an outrageous shame how housing rents are increased to a point that most people just cannot afford. At the other hand house owners are supported in many ways. Amsterdam 2.45 am.

March 13.

2 things about this photograph. 1: it is about the anonymity of a big city. Although having a small dog tells something about a character. 2: This was taken by hand with 1/10 of second. Sharpness thanks to the electronic lens stabilization at the modern camera. Antwerp 4.58 pm.

March 12.

Cycling home I saw this abandoned night terrace. I fell in love with the three red balls, which functioned as some kind of a romantic illumination. By the way it was one of the finest days of the year until now. Amsterdam 7.40 pm.

March 11.

Sometimes the nothingness of a location can result into an intriguing photograph. It’s all about the richness of the banal. Diemen, 9.55 am.

March 10.

Building sites at night, they fascinate me. Watch the plane stripes in the dark sky, a plane taking a bend during 10 seconds exposure time. Diemen, 9.17 pm.

March 9.

When I looked out of the bedroom window this morning I saw the sky being covered with all kinds of plane stripes. Looked like a beautiful abstract painting. Diemen is only a few miles away from the national airport Schiphol. Diemen, 7.57 am.

March 8.

Strange. This spot in my suburbian hometown is so artificial, that I sense about the same mixture of surrealism and poetry I felt yesterday at the Antwerp cemetery. Or was it only the exceptional weather, a very early spring. Diemen, 4.24 pm

March 7.

One of the things Martin and I often do is visiting the main cemetery in Antwerp. It is called Schoonselhof which means something like garden of beautiful things. There is a slightly alienating atmosphere, a mixture between poetry, surrealism and a whiff of sadness & eternity. Antwerpen, 1.30 pm.

March 6.

I find myself in the last carriage of the train to Antwerp, where I am going to visit a friend. I am rediscovering the square format. Moerdijkbrug, 11.27 am

March 5.

There were just a few rays of sunlight in our bedroom this morming to make self portrait 340. Diemen, 8.19 am.

March 4.

I love to watch small details in photographs, which just aren't right. Here the small red pole lies on a wrong spot. In this way it emphasizes the perfect banality of the picture. The perfect banal can be a very strong issue in photography. Something else: Marco (see february 25th ) and I had a little discussion about my photography. In the 1st place he called me a location photographer . He is right. Diemen, 12.09 am.

March 3.

Ever since I heard this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fdF4DFjzCBI , I cannot pass a weeping willow without humming the song. But, for sure, they are beautiful trees, especially on a sunny day in March. Diemen, 4.52 pm.

March 2.

There's only a slight difference between a real human being and some mannequins. Amsterdam, 1.06 pm.

March 1.

This photograph hangs on our wall as a souvenir of our cycle trip through Ireland. We are standing at the highest pass of the counry, about 450 meters above sealevel. Beautiful weather and a quick descent ahead of us. Where we took a wrong road to ride an extra 20 kilometers. Diemen, 10.50 am.
