Vanwege Fragmentarische Aard (120) Because of a Fragmentic Nature (120)

Yes!  I love to use reflections in my photographs. They offer the opportunity to combine two worlds into one image. Today the image underneath is an example of Shopping Window City Blues.

My exhibition Zelf! (Self!) goes into its last week! So, if you have attended grab the chance to see my head bigger than Life! Opening hours of the show: Tuesday 23d till Saturday 27th 12.00 am – 6.00 pm.
Amsterdam, Gallery W1F!, Nieuwe Zijds Voorburgwal 371.
Meanwhile I continue to make new self portraits. I want to experiment a little with post processing, how can I ad something essential by using Photoshop, without disturbing the original setting and mood.

Diemer Plek # 65 (Sites from Diemen NL # 65)

Some people wonder if I am still working on my series about Diemen, my home town. Well, I can reassure them, I am still working on it.
Gradually the way I am depicting this suburb is changing.  I used to make some kind of topographic images. Nowadays I tend to make photographs which I call controlled snapshots. They are like postcards, but with subjects which are unusual for postcards.
A funny thing about working a long time (6 years now) on Sites from Diemen is that not only my photographic vision changes, but also the town itself.  I captured spots which changed radically, or even disappeared.

Vanwege Fragmentarische Aard (119) Because of a Fragmentic Nature (119)

Some time ago I visited the area in Brussels, where the buildings of the European Parliament are situated. Strange place to be. It’s consisting of huge buildings like enormous steel and glass beehives.
Human being are absent or reduced to small spots in the open space.
It’s a bit like Europe is nowadays. The organization is more important than the people it’s representing.
Not to mention that for 12 times a year the whole pandemonium moves over to the French city of Strassbourg. Talking about wasting public money…
